Food and Drink
You can bring your own closed water bottle. There are some contactless filling stations in the museum, though all manual fountains are shut off. Water is available for purchase in the Bistro, Explorer Cafe, and in vending machines.
Dining Areas
Bring your own snacks? There are tables open to museum visitors on the ground level in the Siragusa Center and near the Sea Mammals.
Restaurants
The Field Bistro, open every day 8am—4:30pm, is located on the main level. The restaurant offers a menu featuring locally sourced food and quick grab-and-go service, as well as a full bar featuring exclusive offerings made by local brewers and distilleries.
The Explorer Cafe is found on the ground level and offers family-friendly foods in a casual environment. In the summer, there is an outdoor patio located off the Cafe where you can sit to enjoy the weather.

- Saturday the 16th open 10:30—3:00pm
- Open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the rest of November

Shopping
Visit one of our stores to take home a Field Museum souvenir. Our main store is located on the main level near the south end of Stanley Field Hall. You can also visit the SUE tore near the exit of the Griffin Halls of Evolving Planet on the upper level. Many ticketed exhibitions also have their own stores located near the exhibition exit. You can also shop online anytime and opt for shipping or curbside pickup on McFetridge Drive.
Storage Lockers
You are more than welcome to carry your backpacks and coats throughout the museum.
For your convenience, we do have lockers* available in three different sizes (small for $7, medium for $10, and luggage sized for $15) located at our south door on the main level.

Restrooms
Accessible restrooms are located on every level. There are three family-friendly restrooms on the ground level:
- on the north side near the East Entrance
- on the north side near the Siragusa Center
- on the south side near the James Simpson Theatre
An all-gender, single-stall restroom is also available on the ground level on the south side near the James Simpson Theatre.
Accessibility
We strive to provide all visitors with equal access to facilities, programs, and activities.
Wheelchairs
Wheelchairs—sanitized between each use—can be borrowed at no cost on a first-come, first-served basis. They are located at the East Entrance on the ground level.
Strollers
Visitors may bring their own strollers.
Strollers are allowed everywhere in the museum. Stroller parking is also provided outside the 3D movie theaters on the ground level. The Field Museum is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or unclaimed items or strollers.
Nursing Room
Mothers are welcome to nurse wherever they are comfortable within the building.
A private nursing room is also available on the ground level inside the women's restroom behind the Siragusa Center.
First Aid
Please alert Field Museum staff in case of an emergency or urgent need.
A first aid room is located on the ground level, near the Siragusa Center. Visitors can also request this room for private use. Please contact us in advance of your visit about the availability of this space at accessibility@fieldmuseum.org or 312.665.7695.
Wi-Fi
The free, public Wi-Fi network FieldMuseumWiFi is available for all guests to use. Signal strength may vary throughout the museum.
Lost and Found
Lost items will be held for 30 days before being donated. If you’ve lost personal items, such as clothing or toys, inquire at the Visitors’ Center on the ground level near the Siragusa Center, or contact 312.665.7201 or lostandfound@fieldmuseum.org.
If you’ve lost valuables, such as a wallet, phone, or jewelry, please tell a protection services officer stationed at a museum entrance.
If you lost something during a special event at the museum, please contact the event manager.
