The Field Associates Brunch Cruise is a celebration of community, philanthropy, and discovery - all in support of the Field Museum's dynamic exhibitions, education programs, collections conservation, and groundbreaking scientific research.

On Sunday, June 8, 2025, guests will enjoy a delicious brunch with bottomless mimosas, live DJ entertainment, and breathtaking views aboard a cruise ship on Lake Michigan. Mingle with friends new and old while soaking in the stunning Chicago skyline as we cruise by Navy Pier, Willis Tower, and Museum Campus (spot the Field!).

This fundraiser is hosted by the Field Associates young professionals' board, which supports the Field Museum's mission through philanthropy, advocacy, and volunteerism.

Join us for an evening celebrating the grand opening of the Pok&eacute;mon Fossil Museum at the Field Museum! Receive exclusive, after-hours access to the exhibit and embark on your own fossil adventure through the exhibit halls of the Field Museum. You&rsquo;ll want to catch all this event has to offer, including demonstrations by our team of scientists, hands-on activities, crafts, and of course, plenty of fossils!
Guests must register in advance and will receive a timed-entry ticket for the Pok&eacute;mon Fossil Museum at check-in. Access to all other museum exhibitions, including the Crown Family PlayLab and After the Age of Dinosaurs, are included with admission. All sales are final.

Celebrate Pollinator Week with scientists from the Gantz Family Collections Center!
Bats are often celebrated as important nighttime pollinators, but not all bats play that role. At this special session, you&rsquo;ll learn about the fascinating diversity of bat diets and adaptations around the globe. Even though Chicagoland&rsquo;s bats do not pollinate our local flowers, they do rely on insect pollinators as part of their diets. Stop by the Grainger Science Hub to learn more and to see a live dissection of our local bat species, and special specimens of pollinating bats from around the world, too. Guests will learn the diversity of bats and be able to recall how our local bats are not pollinators, but they are still an important part of our local ecosystem.

You&rsquo;ll be enchanted by spectacular specimens of the moths you know and love, and be astonished to meet some surprising native pollinators that call Chicago home, too. Learn about how you can take action to help native plants and pollinators, and take home a free Field Guide to help you identify the native plants and pollinators of Chicagoland.</div>

The Women&rsquo;s Board of the Field Museum, founded in 1966, raises funds for Women in Science programs at its annual luncheon celebrating female STEM leadership.

<h2>Keynote</h2>

On May 21, 2025, the Women's Board of the Field Museum will welcome Sera Young, PhD as its annual Women in Science Luncheon speaker.

Dr. Young is a Professor of Anthropology and Global Health at Northwestern University, and she has dedicated her career to understanding how women work to preserve their health and that of their families. Her research focuses on maternal and child undernutrition in the first 1,000 days of life, particularly in low-resource settings.

Notably, Dr. Young led a large team in the development of the first globally equivalent way of measuring water access &ndash; the WISE (Water InSecurity Experiences) Scales. These scales have been used by 100+ organizations in 50+ countries to tackle some of the world&rsquo;s most pressing health challenges.

She has authored more than 170 peer-reviewed publications, and her work has been featured in The New York Times, BBC, and National Geographic. Since the inception of the Women in Science initiative in 2000, the annual luncheon has supported more than 500 young women through internships, fellowships, post-doc positions, salary support for female scientific staff, and a robust series of lectures and networking events. In addition, the luncheon makes possible annual science outreach programming for young women from three Chicago Public Schools &ndash; Orr Academy, Solorio Academy, and ITW David Speer Academy &ndash; whom we welcome to the Field Museum to join the luncheon, meet the keynote speaker, and network with female STEM leaders.

Join us for a professional development workshop inspired by the Restoring Earth in Abbott Hall. This session will explore how rainforest ecosystems can be used to support inquiry-based science learning in grades 3&ndash;5. The workshop will highlight classroom strategies that support Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), with a focus on ecosystem relationships, environmental change, and human impacts on Earth&rsquo;s systems. Educators will explore approaches for modeling food webs, facilitating evidence-based discussions, and helping students analyze real-world environmental challenges.
As a special incentive, the first 10 educators to register will receive a complimentary copy of Three Weeks in the Rainforest by Jennifer Swanson, a STEM book inspired by the research and themes featured in the exhibition.
