Timothy C. Plowman Latin American Research Award
The Botanical Collections and the Integrative Research Center at The Field Museum invite applications for the Timothy C. Plowman Latin American Research Award. The award is designed to assist students and young professionals to visit The Field Museum and use our extensive economic botany and systematic collections. Individuals from Latin America and projects in the field of ethnobotany or systematics of economically important plant groups will be given priority consideration.
We encourage you to reach out to potential Museum collaborators, including Rick Ree, Christine Niezgoda, and Michael Dillon, when preparing your application.
Applicants interested in the award should submit i) a curriculum vitae; ii) a detailed letter describing the project for which the award is sought (maximum length two pages); iii) a brief budget. The total amount of the award offered for 2017 is $3,000 USD.
Applicants should allow appropriate time for visa considerations, and factor American taxes, visa expenses, and the cost of travel to and from the Museum into their proposed budget. Please contact Emily Hallock should you have any questions ehallock@fieldmuseum.org

Premio Timothy C. Plowman Para Investigacion En Latinoamerica
Las Colecciones de Botánica y el Centro de Investigación del Field Museum invitan a que apliquen para el Premio Timothy C. Plowman de Investigación en Latinoamérica. El premio está diseñado para ayudar a estudiantes y jóvenes profesionales para poder visitar el Field Museum y utilizar nuestras extensas colecciones de botánica económica y de grupos sistemáticos. Se le dará una prioridad a los Individuos de América Latina y a proyectos en el campo de etnobotánica o de grupos sistemáticos de plantas económicamente importantes.
Los animamos a contactarse con posibles colaboradores del Museo, incluyendo a Rick Ree, Christine Niezgoda y Michael Dillon, al preparar su solicitud.
Los solicitantes interesados en aplicar para el premio deberán presentar i) un curriculum vitae; ii) una carta detallada que describa el proyecto para el que solicitan el premio (no más de dos páginas); Iii) un presupuesto breve. El monto total del premio ofrecido para 2017 es de $ 3,000 USD.
Los solicitantes deben incluir en el presupuesto que proponen los siguientes puntos: darse el tiempo apropiado para las consideraciones de visa, y considerar el factor de los impuestos estadounidenses, los gastos de visado, y el costo de los viajes de ida y regreso al Museo.
