The Field Museum Women’s Board is committed to supporting students and scientists at all stages of their careers through the annual Women in Science Luncheon event.
Keynote

On May 12, 2026, the Women's Board of the Field Museum will welcome Adji Bousso Dieng as its annual Women in Science Luncheon speaker.
Adji Bousso Dieng is a Senegalese scientist and Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Princeton University, where she leads Vertaix, a research group at the intersection of AI and the natural sciences. She is affiliated with multiple institutes across engineering, materials, quantum science, energy, and the environment, and previously was a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind (2020–2025). She is also the founder of the nonprofit The Africa I Know, which promotes STEM education in Africa.
Dieng's transdisciplinary work has earned major international recognition. Most recently, she was nominated by the UN Secretary-General as one of 40 experts on the inaugural International Scientific Panel on AI. She was awarded the 2025 Prix Galien Africa Special Prize, a Schmidt Sciences AI2050 Early Career Fellowship, and honors from the American Statistical Association and Columbia University. Her work has been featured in outlets such as Nature, New Scientist, Le Monde, Forbes, and Business Insider. She holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University, where her thesis received both a Google Ph.D. Fellowship and the Leonard J. Savage Award.
