Maureen is an insect taxonomist and systematist, especially interested in the diversity and phylogeny of horse flies (Diptera: Tabanidae). Her research focuses on using museum specimens to perform revisionary work on horse flies, potentially finding and describing new species. Maureen is also interested in phylogenomics, using next generation sequencing data for phylogenetic analyses, which allow us to better understand the evolutionary history of horse flies and the relationships within them.
