The N. W. Harris Learning Collection at the Field Museum gives educators and parents a chance to take the Museum's collection to their classroom or home. Borrow these specimens, items, and related curricular materials for up to three weeks, and when you return your borrowed treasures, peruse the over 100-year-old Learning Collection to take something new.
Office Hours
Harris Learning Collection office will be closed December 15, 2024—January 6, 2025. We will reopen January 7, 2025 at 3pm.
- Tuesday and Wednesday from 3—7pm
- Saturday from 9am—3pm
Harris Learning Collection Open House
On Saturday, January 11th from 4pm - 6pm, educators are invited to be the first to see the newest taxidermy additions to the collection. All educators who attend will also receive a new 5 item membership, or an additional 5 items added to their existing membership!
Explore the Harris Learning Collection space with educators who use the collection and take away best practices for object-based learning!
Invite friends! We will have light snacks and (non-alcoholic) drinks to share!
