About this event

Check out live arachnids and discover what you can learn by paying close attention to the natural world and the small “creepy” creatures around us.

See live specimens of arachnids (spiders and Opiliones or “daddy long-legs”) and learn about their ecology, behavior, and biomechanics from the scientists who study them. Discover the critical role these common animals play in the environment and what we can do to protect them.

Presenters include Ignacio Escalante, Assistant Professor, Marilia Freire, PhD, and Sejal Prachand, Sage DeLong, and Noah Skelly, Behavioral Ecology & Biomechanics Lab, University of Illinois-Chicago.
