About this event

See the latest science firsthand in the Grainger Science Hub.

Join Arjan Mann, Cal So, and other Mann Labs researchers, interns, and volunteers as they showcase their research of fossils across the Paleozoic period, with a focus on the Mazon Creek Lagerstätte.

From 11am - 1pm, guests can join Arjan Mann to discuss Mazon Creek, one of the most important fossil sites in the world (located 70 miles southwest of Chicago, IL).

Daily from 10am - 3pm, guests can view and discuss Mazon Creek fossils, scientific illustrations, and figures generated by a variety of scientists, along with digital, sculpture, or artist reconstructions of the animals being studied. This showcase is dedicated to highlighting the art of science, and how it influences our understanding and interpretation of anatomical data. Scientists will discuss the mediums they used, their process, and the larger importance of their scientific studies.

Please note: Live filming and photography will take place on Aug 5 from 10am - 11am. The Grainger Science Hub will be open to general admission visitors during this time.
