Queer Botany: Flowers and their connection to the LGBTQ+ Community

Botany and the LGBTQ+ community overlap in many ways, like their shared use of terminology like "bisexual" as lilies, tulips, and roses being known as bisexual flowers, or their cultural significance dating back to 7th century BCE with papyrus fragments of poetry by Sappho referencing violets.

This event is presented as part of our Pride Month celebration.
